Other topic idea's

Hey everyone,
I know we have already brainstormed idea’s for the magazine but I think we should also think about including the following ideas:
· Challenging societies expectations on today’s youth
· Unique ways of being an individual in this day and age
· Making you a piece of art. Covering tattoos, piercings, fashion, hair, different trends in different classes of people (ie. Rockers, skaters, preps )
Basically covering unique senses of style that have recently become mainstream in society.

I personally like magazines that i feel like i can relate to and learn/get something from, and i think this is a great way to identify with different types of people. We should consider using this approach for other aspects of the magazine, for example covering different types of events and topics from fashion week to Canadian National Music Week. Things that play a part in the expression of ones self without the typical "fashionista" boundaries... Slightly 'alternative' if you will.

I agree. I think covering these types of topics will allow the "artist" a form of creative expression, which our generation can all relate to. I also agree with what meg said, rather than strictly covering only events such as fashion week we should extend the coverage to include different forms of events, such as local indie festivals. Which will appeal to a variety of readers.

I've definitely thought of including a piece (issue based assignment) that is more street fashion (goth, punks, skaters, etc.). I mean, as much as I enjoy the mainstream stuff, every now and then I really LOVE finding some crazy out of control outfit. So "making you a piece of art" though it sort of plays on the previous centre story from the last issue, it adds to it.
