Plump
Your Pout
Skip
the needles and rock your natural lips
With so
many celebrities spotted around with noticeably plumper pouts it can be easy to
start feeling the need to fill up as well. I, myself have always wanted my lips
to look just a tinsy bit bigger, as well as many other women. I have debated
getting fillers for a long time and still have not come to a decision.
Being a full
time student is expensive and does not leave a lot of spare change for fillers
that can cost up to $700.00 for a syringe. There are many risks involved with
injecting fillers into your lips such as infection, injection into a blood
vessel, and scarring to name a few. Some may be tempted to go to an uncertified
doctor in an effort to cut the cost however this is the absolute worst thing
you could possibly do. You run the risk of an uncertified doctor improperly
injecting your lips and then uncertainty of what is actually going into your
body.
Resorting
to natural ways to plump your lips is insanely cheap and actually works (not to
mention the added bonus of not having a needle stabbing your lips repeatedly)!
One natural way I’ve found does an excellent job of making my lips look full
and lush is a mask consisting of only cinnamon and Vaseline. So simple! The
cinnamon in the mask irritates your mucus membrane, in turn increasing the
blood flow to your lips which is what gives the plumping effect.
Cinnamon Mask Recipe
You will need:
·
2
tablespoons Vaseline
·
1
teaspoon cinnamon powder
Simply combine the ingredients in a bowl and microwave
for 10 seconds to melt down the Vaseline. Once fully combined, you can apply a
thick layer to your lips and leave it on for about 20-30 minutes. Wipe away
with a warm wash cloth and water.
Everyone’s body is different and reactions may vary, I
suggest testing the mix on your arm beforehand to avoid any serious reactions.
Of
course, there are so many lip plumping glosses and treatments out there, the
trick is just finding which one works for you. Two products that have worked
for me continuously are Too Faced Lip
Injection Extreme, found at Sephora and Pillow
Plump by Sexy Mother Pucker found
at Shoppers Drug Mart.
One thing that is very important to
remember is WATER! Hydration is essential to maintaining healthy skin and
therefore that counts for your lips as well. Dry lips are often mistaken for
small lips so be mindful of your water intake and always be sure to apply lip
balm regularly.
At the end of the day nobody absolutely
needs lip fillers and should not feel pressured to invest in such an expensive
cosmetic procedure. It is a matter of personal opinion and there is no right
way to feel about lip fillers. Ugly beauty is about setting aside the stigmas
and judgements and just letting everyone love life in their own body and
whatever they choose to do to it.
